Your Guide to Botox Hair Treatment After Care

Among some of the most popular hair treatments today, hair Botox is one of the options that give your hair the most benefits. Hair Botox is used to give your hair that extra shine, give life back to brittle hair, and also help with regeneration. Despite its name, hair Botox is not applied through a syringe and the procedure can be easily done at home. However, in order for you to get the most out of your treatment, it is vital to know how to maintain your hair Botox. This will help you get the results that you want, as well as make the treatment last longer.
The average hair Botox treatment lasts around two to four months. However, the specific amount of time will depend on how well you take care of your hair following the treatment. On average, if you care for it properly it should last for three to four months. Do not just think that you can apply the hair Botox and leave your hair unattended. It is extremely important to take care of your hair even more so after the treatment. Leaving traces of shampoo in your hair, blow drying it too often, not brushing it carefully, or straightening it with a hair iron too much may make the effect of hair Botox fade away much more quickly than it actually should.
Hair Botox After Care
There are certain habits that you should avoid if you are wanting to follow your Botox hair treatment after care perfectly. There are also some highly useful tips that you can follow to make it last even longer than it should.
• When can I wash my hair after the Botox?
The first time you should wash your hair after the treatment is around 48 to 72 hours later if you want maximum absorption, as in the case with Keratin. After the first wash, you should keep up with the routine and wash your hair less frequently, again, around every 3 days or so. Use dry shampoo if you notice that your hair is becoming greasy.

• Refrain from straightening your hair too much
In addition to the hair washing procedure, it is equally important to take care of the heat you apply on your hair. Blow-drying is not recommended to do every day, as well as using a hair straightener. If you really do want to use any of these hair styling tools, make sure that you always use a heat protection spray.

• Choose the right shampoo
Washing your hair with a regular shampoo after a hair Botox treatment is a huge mistake. Take a look at your shampoo labels and make sure that you are using sulphate-free and chemical free products. Avoid labels reading Sodium C14 – 16 Olefin Sulfonate and Sodium Chloride. The same goes for moisturisers and conditioners, which is why it is also recommended to find yourself a hair Botox-specific conditioner. Products that contain argan, coconut or macadamia oil are great to care for your hair, just make sure that they do not contain any of the ingredients stated above.
